Casio introduced the G-Squad Pro GSW-H1000, its new G-Shock smartwatch with Google Wear OS platform, and it is also the first G-Shock watch with a color screen.

Casio G-Squad Pro GSW-H1000 is a robust and very durable smartwatch. The back of the housing is made of titanium, while the buttons and parts of the upper part of the housing are aluminum. That it is really tough also speaks to the resistance to shock and water up to 200 meters deep.

The novelty is Android Wear OS, which is paired with a two-tier screen. There is always a time-display LCD included in combination with a color LCD screen that can display maps, information, sensor data and other information. It's the first time a G-Shock watch has had such a thing, although Casio already uses Wear OS in its Pro Trek smartwatch line.

The Casio G-Squad Pro smartwatch is packed with sensors including built-in GPS, optical heart sensor, compass, elevation measurement capability, barometric pressure, and more.

It also owns casio's app for 24 indoor workout options and 15 activities, including running, road cycling and swimming, or more extreme sports like surfing and bord.

The Wear OS platform provides access to smartphone information, numerous apps, and access to google assistant. You can also download any watch-compatible app from the Google Play Store for free.

Battery life is estimated at one month if you rely only on a monochroy screen and tracking sensors for about a day and a half if you use a color screen more often.

The Casio G-Squad Pro smartwatch comes in red, dark blue and black. The retail price is $699/£599. Casio has so far provided no details on its availability on the market.
