While neither EA nor DICE have provided an exact date for the Battlefield 2021 reveal, an insider believes it should be happening this week.
EA and DICE have shared very little about this year's Battlefield title, which has been referred to as both Battlefield 6 and Battlefield 2021 in lieu of its official name (which hasn't been revealed yet). While some information was shared recently, with DICE promising epic-scale warfare and potentially hinting at a next-gen only release for consoles, there's still no sign of the actual official reveal of the game. With any luck, the wait won't be much longer.
According to journalist and industry insider Jeff Grubb, the reveal should be happening at some point this week. Grubb reiterates that he had previously said that the Battlefield reveal would happen in early May, which is right now. Assuming his information is correct and plans haven't changed, it would mean the reveal will take place within the next several days or so.
He added that the game won't be called Battlefield 6, something that another insider, Tom Henderson, has also claimed. Plus, given the naming conventions for the last couple of Battlefield games and speculation that the 2021 game will be set in modern day (as opposed to the last two games being set during the First and Second World Wars), it stands to reason that the new game will either feature a new subtitle or just be called Battlefield, so as to herald in a new era for the series.
