Russia's Fund for Prospective Research is developing an innovative "Ciclokar" flying car with cyclical propellers, designed for six people.

"The flight of the first prototype 'Ciclokar', equipped entirely with an electric motor, is planned in 2022. The New York 2016,' the fund's press office said.

The flying car will be able to carry 600kg of cargo or carry six people. The main executor of the project is the Institute for Thermophysics of the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

"Ciclokar" is part of the Cyclone project and an idea project of a flying machine has already been created. Field tests of the cyclical rotor, one and a half metres in diameter, were conducted, and a test flight of the 60kg prototype was held.

The ciclokar will be six metres long and 20 centimetres long and six metres wide. His top speed will be up to 250 kilometers per hour. The flight range is up to 500 km, that is, it can fly without interruption from Moscow to Nis Novgoor or Voronjez.

"Ciclokar" is a craft, which lingers in the air thanks to cyclical retiquests. The main advantages of such propellers are rapid control of thrust vectors by 360 degrees, low noise level and compactness.

The cyclical propeller is one of the most complex for the design of aerodynamic devices, and as the head of the Project Group of the Foundation for Promising Research Jan Ćibiso claims, scientists and engineers of the Novosibirsko Institute have successfully solved this problem.

As they explained in the fund's press service, "Ciclokara" will be operated as a car.
