Fans remembered Metroid Prime mainly for having sweeed the 2D franchise into a first-person 3D shooter. Prime 2D will try the other way around, rewriting the GameCube shooter from the ground up. Instead of recreating it, the team focuses on taking the basic concepts, translation them, and then applying them in a logical 2D solution.

For now, the demo version is really breathtaking. It contains arduously detailed pixel art, along with remixed musical themes. It also restores the features of an original game like Scan Visor, which examines the environment and shows players all kinds of details about world-building - in a new 2D interpretation.

Metroid fans have long sought a new edition, but unsuccessfully. In 2017, there will be more than 100,000 new people In 2014, Nintendo announced Metroid Prime 4 for the Nintendo Switch.

But Nintendo has postponed the game in early 2019. 2015, when progress in game development did not reach Nintendo's standards for Metroid continuation. So far, about 14,000 people have taken over Prime 2D, but the question is how long it will be online, as the authors fear lawsuits and Nintendo's response.
