Apex Legends Mobile Announced, Will Be A Separate Game

Apex Legends is coming to mobile soon, but unlike the Switch version, it won't have a shared multiplayer with other versions of the game.

Apex Legends, along with Warzone, is the only popular battle royale success story not available on mobile platforms – the ones where Fortnite and PUBG count the most players. But it won't be like that for a long time because electronic arts announced Apex Legends Mobile.


It will be a new and separate game specially designed for mobile phones. So, about the game made for touchscreen controls, a new version that won't have cross-play with versions for PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch. Just like the basic version on other platforms, Mobile will be free-to-play formats, i.e. free to play. They'll have their Battle Passes, cosmetics, etc.


Apex Legends Mobile was said to be working on a team within Respawn, i.e. that the task of transferring Apex to mobile phones did not go to a third party, but was done by the creators of the original. However, some of the jobs will still go to partner studios.


The game will soon go into beta testing on Android and iOS, for starters in a very limited round of closed testing in the territories of India and the Philippines.
