Activision lightning-fast deletes footage showing new Warzone map

The display of the new map in Warzone first expired on Twitter, showing some recognizable Verdansk locations in 80s attier, as well as some new ones seen in the Cold War campaign.

Previous days have been very noisy for Call of Duty games, and today we continue at the same pace. A video purportedly showing parts of a potential new Warzone map, including recognizable locations in Verdansk but also some new ones seen in the Black Ops: Cold War campaign, has expired on Twitter. The video was soon removed at Activision's request, so it is possible that the mighty gigabytes we downloaded in previous days still hide a whiff of the new era of the 80s, which should affect Verdansk.

It's a one-minute commercial in which some celebrities fly verdanska by helicopter passing through key locations that change the current look to cold war-era ones. Thus, the video shows Verdansk's stadium under construction, a new (old) aqueduct on the site of the current dam, and a modified airport, TV station and Downtown are visible. A mine and a large Duga-2 radar similar to that of the Black Ops: Cold War campaign.

It is also mentioned on 22.4. as a possible date when we should see the map in action. This date does not seem so convincing, however, given that the leaked display is in rather sketchy condition, although at the time it would have been appropriate ahead of the start of the third season of Warzone and Cold War.

Rumours have been circulating for several weeks that Verdansk should suffer a nuclear disaster, with which Activision would fully round off warzone's transition from Modern Warfare to Black Ops: Cold War. Given that Activision is trying to remove all leaked material, perhaps something big is coming for the Warzones in due course.
