Negotiations between Microsoft and Discord, which we recently wrote about, are now described as "advanced" and "exclusive" and could result in a deal next month.
This is still assuming that negotiations do not fail, as some sources have previously indicated that Discord can still choose to "go on the market" on its own, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Another Bloomberg report suggests that Microsoft is interested in purchasing the app as a "chat place" for many communities that use it, not just for gamers or Xbox Live services.
The online gamer community is not happy about this, as the tech giant is followed by a bad reputation when it comes to managing communications companies. Microsoft has MSN and Skype behind it that were standard for online user communication.
However, they have caught fire with the arrival of more modern resolving the competition, but also the solution of Microsoft itself. MSN has been shut down, and Skype, although it still has millions of users on the daily level, is no longer of the uhash of user interest.
